Point in Time Count

The Center for Civic Engagement participated in the 2020 Point In Time Count with the Lowcountry Coalition of Care on January 22nd at 7pm. While we will not be participating in the 2021 Point In Time, check back in January 2022 for more information about the next Point In Time Count.

If you are interested in joining us on this night, please email volunteer@cofc.edu, or sign up on Cougar Connect.

The Point In Time (PIT) Count is an annual count of sheltered and unsheltered homeless persons on a single night in January. This count must be conducted every year in order to qualify for federal aid dollars.

Please read the 2019 PIT Count Report for South Carolina.  During the Point in Time Count on January 23, 2019 at least 4,172 people were classified as homeless in South Carolina - a 6% increase from 2018.
