Point in Time Count

Check back in January 2022 for more information about the 2022 Point In Time Count, facilitated by the Lowcountry Continuum of Care.

The Point In Time (PIT) Count is an annual count of sheltered and unsheltered homeless persons on a single night in January. This count must be conducted every year in order to qualify for federal aid dollars. The Center for Civic Engagement has contributed to this importrant effort in past years.

Please read the 2019 PIT Count Report for South Carolina.  During the Point in Time Count on January 23, 2019 at least 4,172 people were classified as homeless in South Carolina - a 6% increase from 2018.
